OLD BUSINESS
Nominating Committee
Phil Dawkins reminded the membership that elections for Vice-President and
Secretary will take place at the February meeting. Nominations can be given
to Phil Dawkins, Tom Kite or Mark Markwell. Nominations will also be taken
from the floor at the February meeting.
Awards Committee
Mike Hutton said there weren't any nominations for the awards for Rookie of
the Year, Most Improved Official and Official of the Year. Nominations will
be accepted until February 1, 2012, and awards will be presented at our meeting
at the Boy's State Final in February.
NEW BUSINESS
Officials Advisory Committee representative Mike Hutton stated that the Advisory Committee is suggesting that only one member of an association should be required to attend the July Convention in Peoria instead of two members in order to reduce costs. Tom Kite asked Mike to ask the committee to pay all four officials at each Sectional Meet the same amount.
Mike also explained that if you are a Certified Official you can submit your own personal Top 15 list to the IHSA in addition to the one given to the ISOA. Also, the IHSA will continue to provide new officials with a uniform patch.
There was an error made by the IHSA that showed the status of a first year official to be on Probation. This happened in all sports because first year officials didn't have the opportunity to attend a clinic. This error has been fixed.
The IHSA will continue to provide a rule book every 2 years as an expense cutting measure. Any changes in rules during the years you do not receive a new will be provided on the internet by the IHSA. Officials have the option to purchase a rules book from the IHSA or National Federation. The IHSA doesn't add shipping charges to the purchase.
The IHSA is making an attempt to provide an e-mail notice to officials who
are given State Series assignments. Until that happens Mike will give notice
through the ISOA website and e-mails.
Top 15 List
Jim Katula, Dick Wildey, Steve Fedota and Kim Ramsey volunteered to count
the Top 15 Ballots.
IHSA Assistant Executive Director Ron McGraw
Mr. McGraw addressed the membership and thanked everyone for their help. He
truly appreciates what the Swim Officials provide during the State Series.

Upon request Nancy said that our summer baseball outing went well and was attended by over 30 people which includes members and family. Everyone had a good time. Nancy offered to do the outing again and it would discussed at the February meeting.
