The meeting was called to order

Phil distributed the minutes of
the February 23 meeting held at
Treasurer Al Wienke gave the Treasurer’s report for the period from February 21 through August 23. Our current bank balance is $1709.33. Income for this period was $1520.00 and expenses were $824.90. Expenses incurred this period included the ISOA annual award plaques, the ISA banquet, the IHSA official’s conference, and the ISOA website. Our membership is currently at 84 members.
Patt Chase asked what expenses we incurred for the IHSA official’s conference. Phil Dawkins explained that we (as do all associations) contribute to the cost of the official’s social that is held on Friday evening and we pay the registration fee for the delegate who is required to attend the delegate meeting on Saturday morning. Bob Allan asked if any member could be our representative at this meeting, which they can.
There was no old business brought before the membership.
Mark Anderson gave a report on
the official’s conference held in
Mike Hutton gave an update on the
ISOA website, which he maintains.
Suggestions were solicited at the February meeting for any new
information members want to see on the site, and to date Mike has received
none. We average about 65-70 hits per
month and have received visits from users as far away as
Phil Dawkins represents Swimming and Diving on the Official’s Advisory Committee, which meets twice each year. Phil updated the membership on some items recently discussed. There have been changes to promotional requirements, fees for officials, an increase in the mileage rate to 32 cents (up from 30) per mile for each mile over 70 miles (down from 100), an increase in the base pay amount used to calculate post-season game fees, and rule book rotation schedules whereby officials will receive a new rule book every other year.
The Nominating Committee was chosen and includes Patt Chase, Barb Richardson and Mike Hutton. They will present candidates at the February 2009 meeting for the ISOA elections, which will then include the positions of President, Treasurer, and Member-At-Large.
The Awards Committee was chosen and includes Mark Anderson, Nancy Myer and Tom Kite. This committee will select recipients of the ISOA Annual Awards which will be presented in February 2009 at the boy’s State Final.
Barb Richardson, Patt Chase and Nancy Myer were chosen as talliers for the girl’s Top 15 ballots recently submitted by the membership. They will meet immediately following this meeting and the results will be available on the ISOA website in a few days.
Ollie Dunson spoke briefly and thanked the membership for their efforts in raising a portion of the funds to purchase his new leg. Ollie is doing well and is getting more comfortable with the leg each day.
